GM Cancer Awards 2024


Educational Impact category – ‘Cancer and Us’ Community Conversations programme.  

A joint award for our partnership with wearevocal NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) LGBT Foundation and residents on the ‘Cancer and Us’ Community Conversations programme. 


The conversations helped to breakdown barriers to talking about cancer through grassroots engagement, hands on activities and partnership working. This neighbourhood approach will continue to have impact on research, practice and policy for years to come.

Pride of Gorton Awards 2023- Best Community Team 

Volunteers add so much to the quality of community service and our Gorton Community Grocer team contributes so much every week with their empathy, local knowledge and personal skills for supporting people through tough times into better times. 


Along with access to food, the Gorton Community Grocer team provide access to services and support that make a big difference in people's lives and are making lasting positive changes in their community. Their commitment and service were recognised at the Pride of Gorton Awards, picking up the Best Community Team award.

Healthy Me Healthy Communities CiC is the 'Best Community Support Organisation 2023- Greater Manchester'


The HMHC teams at Gorton Central and No.93 Cafe and Kitchen have worked so hard this year to support people in the local community, nurturing new partnerships, and creating new opportunities for people looking to improve their life outcomes.
